Cool, Im just trying to be cool

A tongue shoots out like the world’s slimiest bullet.

It’s instinct when Alex just barely dodges it, and instinct when Teena half-steps between her trainer and a hostile lickilicky to use psychic. The excessively long tongue appears stuck in place, and the lickilicky it belongs to begins to panic, desperately using its stubby arms to reach at its own saliva-covered muscle as if to desperately stuff its main weapon back in that holster it considered a mouth. Looking closely near the tip of the tongue, one can see it’s being constricted, gripped strongly by the gardevoir’s transparent telekinetic power.

”Slam it.” Utters Alex, unusually cold and matter-of-fact. His gardevoir does as told, and uses the grip it has on the lickilicky’s tongue to swing the wild pokemon overhead; the lickilicky is raised off the ground, batters its head and body on the tree trunks above it, before getting slammed behind Alex and Teena.

”Moonblast.” Teena’s psychic grip on the pokemon is released, but the lickilicky can’t stand straight. The fact that it can stand at all could be trouble. That was reason enough to take it out.

Moonlight shines bright on them, so the attack is especially potent. The blast hits the silly, pink, balloon-like pokemon like a ton of bricks, and it’s knocked on its back. It doesn’t move anymore. That suited Alex just fine. He spares the downed thing only a glance before moving on.

Little of note happens in the aftermath of their encounter with a particularly hostile lickilicky. After walking for a while, Alex and Teena stop. The former kneels down to lean against a tree and lifts his head up to stare at the stars in the sky. A bush shakes. And shakes. And shakes. A shiftry cautiously pokes its head out. It stares at Alex and Teena. The two don’t move, and after determining them not to be trouble the shiftry continues on its way, looking over its shoulder as several seedot (seedots?) follow it through the forest. It’s a pleasant sight, one Alex has no interest in disturbing. It was getting late, and he hadn’t found anything of interest as far as a catch was concerned. Just a bit longer, and he’d probably call it a night.
